I already bought GitMind Pro

I bought through Lemon Squeezy. Is my licence still valid?

Yes. Your purchase was real and we honour it. Lemon Squeezy closed our store, which is a problem on the payment side and says nothing about you. Update GitMind and it recognises your existing licence by itself — your Pro features keep working and will not expire.

Do I have to buy GitMind Pro again?

No. Please don't. Claim a free replacement key instead — it costs nothing and takes about ten seconds. You can also do it from inside VS Code: run GitMind: Claim Free Replacement License from the Command Palette.

I can't find my old Lemon Squeezy key.

That's fine — you don't need it. The claim page works with just your email address. Leave the key field blank.

My Pro features disappeared. What happened?

Older versions of GitMind re-checked your licence against Lemon Squeezy every day, and treated any failure — including their store being gone — as 'not licensed'. That was our bug. Update GitMind: the new version recognises you, restores Pro, and can no longer switch itself off because a payment provider had a bad day. If it still says Free, tell us and we will fix it.

Using GitMind

What does GitMind actually do?

It reads the changes you have staged in Git and writes the commit message for you — in the style your repository already uses. You review it and commit as normal.

Which AI providers can I use?

Eighteen of them, including Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Google Gemini, GitHub Copilot, DeepSeek, Groq, Mistral, OpenRouter, NVIDIA NIM, Together, Cohere, Perplexity — and Ollama, which runs locally. You can also point GitMind at any OpenAI-compatible endpoint of your own.

Does my code get sent anywhere?

GitMind sends the context you selected and the prompt directly to the provider you configured, using your API key. It does not route those generation requests through us. Review the provider's terms and your selected context; for generation on your own infrastructure, use Ollama or a self-hosted endpoint.

Do I need an API key?

For most providers, yes — GitMind does not resell you tokens, so you use your own account. Two exceptions: GitHub Copilot works with the subscription you already have, and Ollama needs nothing because it runs on your machine.

Which commit styles are supported?

Twelve in total. The free plan includes the clean basic style; a Pro license unlocks the other eleven, including Conventional Commits, Angular, Gitmoji, Karma, Semantic Release, Ember, jQuery and Linux kernel style. Pro can also learn the style from your repository's own history.

Is there a free trial?

No — because there is nothing to trial. GitMind is free to use, permanently: 17 built-in providers, unlimited commit messages, no clock and no nag wall. Pro is an optional one-time purchase that adds the 11 professional commit styles, encrypted key storage, automatic model fallback, custom endpoints and history-aware style matching.

Is Pro a subscription?

No. It is a single payment of $' . PRICE_USD . ' USD before applicable taxes, with no renewal. Polar shows the final total at checkout. The delivered desktop-license benefit remains available where technically possible; updates and hosted services are available only while GitMind is maintained. See the License Terms for details.

How many machines does one licence cover?

3. You can see and manage them from your account, so moving to a new laptop is something you do yourself in a click — you never have to email us to free a slot.

How do I activate my licence?

Your key is emailed to you the moment you pay, and shown on screen. Click Activate in VS Code and it activates itself. If that button does nothing, open the Command Palette (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+P), run GitMind: Activate Pro License, and paste the key.

I lost my licence key.

We will email it to you again. No login needed — just the address you bought with.

What is the refund policy?

A 30-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked. If GitMind is not for you, contact us and we will request the refund through Polar. This voluntary guarantee does not limit mandatory rights or Polar’s refund decisions. Details are in the Refund Policy.

Who handles payment?

Polar, GitMind’s authorised reseller and merchant of record. Polar handles payment, taxes, invoices, and payment refunds; GitMind handles product support. We never see or store your card details.
